Eternal Stats!

As you might have seen if you read the Scale creep blog, this years Summer Wipster and Friends game at BOYL17 is going to be based on the Eternal Champion series by Michael Moorcock. I'm not going to repeat myself so if yo haven't read the idea over you go and read that first. The rest of us will still be here when you get back.

Recent Daubings

As the daylight returns to the world so does the enthusiasm to pick up the brushes and the paints and get stuff painted.

Saturday night Special

A particularly Dangerous part of the Drakwald Forest
What else are you going to do on a dark and rainy night in March but go Round to Snickets house with Erny and Robotforaday and play a game Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay as a tabletop game?
Well that's exactly what we did, and much fun was had by all.......

The O-Team

"In M40.972, a crack commando unit was sent to a death world for a crime they almost certainly did commit. These Ogryn promptly ate all the deadly animals and plants on the planet and were taken under the wing of a friendly Commissar. Today, still used by the Imperium, they survive as soldiers that cost a fortune (in food bills and damages).
If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you should send in.....The O Team."

Wifferrp

I must be getting old. The flu (or just a nasty cold) has had me in it's grip for well over a fortnight now and it's refusing to let go. Bastard. As a result I haven't felt like doing much painting recently so I haven't got any cool new toys to show. Fear not, however as there are some in the pipeline. I just need to restart my painting mojo.

"So if you've got nothing to show us why are you posting?"

Good question dear reader. I occasionally like to blether on in posts about the things that do or have inspired me about Warhammer and it's derivatives and  I've had the third of the holy triumvirate wandering around in the back of my head for some time so I thought I'd take this opportunity to have a verbal wander about.

As a young lad my first contact with all this fantasy game malarkey was with good old Dungeons and Dragons, I've talked before about the influence dragon magazine had on me but it was actually playing D&D with friends in the maths room at lunch times when we were probably 11 or 12 which started us down this long and dark path. We soon graduated to Runequest (3rd edition as published by GW) which was our mainstay for sometime before we moved on to one of the holy Trinity. WFRP.

Even More Metal Clad Maniacs

The last of my old school Chaos Marauders had their turn to get finished this week. This 10 takes me up to 25 which is a little more than I planned and with the two standard bearers that are needing pushing over the finishing line, that'll give me 27. Terrible planning on my part.

Monster Squad

Chaos needs to have foot sloggers too. The idea that all Chaos forces are made up of Deamons, Traitor marines and Spawn is a bit sad. The real cloud and fun in a renegade war band is the mutant and beastmen. These are the lackey's that do all the dirty work, ensuring the plans of the champion come to fruition by blasting who ever is in the way. That great tome of Chaos, Slaves to Darkness has an entry in the 40K war bands followers table that I've been mulling over for years.

There's somebody at the door!

With the realisation that the Christmas holidays were almost over I decided I had time to try and squeeze in one last game before going back to the drudgery of work. So of I popped to see my good friend Linz and we busted out the city scenery. No fancy scenario just a bunch of piratical ne-erdowells having their nice hideout raided by a big noisy areshole of an Inquistior. This links into some previous games that i'll do my best to find links to.

The interesting thing here is that we decided to play on a 2x2 board to see if we could get a fun game out of such a small area and it seems that if you crush enough terrain onto the board then it all works swimmingly. On to the fun.

The boss wasn't happy. He had been giving his hench man loads of silly jobs to do all day, Godbert was convinced it was his hemorrhoids playing up again but he wasn't about to argue while he was waving that plasma pistol around.
