the size of the problem

Well there it is. That's what I need to get painted in just over a month. Those of you expecting expert photography are going to be sorely disappointed. The army consists of 3 characters, 2 units of 20 knights, 2 units of 24 spearman, 1 unit of 24 brigands, 3 units of 10 crossbowmen, 2 cannons, 1 unit of skirmishers, 1 unit of mounted sergeants and one unit of 10 mounted knights. So far i've got one unit of spearman painted. The other spearman and the brigands are within a kick in the arse of being finished and the knights have been started. I still need to get some knights to complete the second unit. From this point on i'm keeping score. 117 figures to go.

mad as a box of frogs

Now this is well worth watching.
Basically it's apprentice for creative types rather than business types. Phillippe Starck is a 'zany' french Alan Sugar for the next big theeng in EEEnglish design (see if you can identify which two of the tumshie's get voted off within the first 10 minutes).

Starck has always annoyed me. He talks a good game but never quite delivers. Listen to his designer of the people schtick and then look at some of the products he pumps out. (apparently the lemon squeezer is a bitch to use, the rubber pads on the feet fall off and scratch your expensive worktops and the acid in the lemon juice reacts badly with the finish on the aluminium)

just in the interest of balance here is something truly astounding that'll remind you what great institution the beeb actually is.
Don't listen if you are squeamish.
On second thoughts everybody should hear this. It's part of your duty as an adult to know about these things.

Toy soldiers and frivolity to follow, I promise.

Ooooh this is new!

This is what happens when you get bored at work, you end typing stuff that gets put onto t'interweb and in some kind of digital archeological dig, people in the real world might actulally read it. Nice.

First up. I'm a grown man. I play with and paint toy soldiers. I'm a geek. and reasonably proud of it. I've got an army to paint for a competion thing at the end of october and I figure this is a good way of motivating myself.

Also I just found one of my mates blogs and i'm a bit jealous.

Just for the curious I don't look weird, i'm not fat, i've got a good job, i'm married, got a child and I don't have a ponytail.

I am however Scots and hate football.

Pictures of stuff that i've done and stuff I found funny/interesting/weird/sexy to follow. If I rememeber to do any of this again.

Cheerio the noo
